Giving Tuesday

GivingTuesday is the international day of generosity happening on November 30, 2021. It was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. Over the past 9 years, this idea has grown into a year-round global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity. It is a global generosity movement, unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and the world.

At a time when we are all experiencing the pandemic, generosity is what brings people of all races, faiths, and political views together across the globe. Generosity gives everyone the power to make a positive change in the lives of others and is a fundamental value anyone can act on. GivingTuesday emphasizes opportunities to give back to communities and causes in safe ways that allow for connection and kindness even while practicing physical distancing.

This year Queens Rising has set a goal of $5000 and a call for volunteers to help them serve their mission of providing support and resources to Black and Brown, girls and women in Philadelphia and its surrounding areas who have been impacted by sexual trauma and sex trafficking.

What your donation can do to help Queens Rising this GivingTuesday:

  • Educate the community on sexual assault and sex trafficking.

  • Provide resources to survivors of Sexual Assault and Sex Trafficking.

  • Help host Restorative Justice and Transformative Justice circles for Black and Brown, girls and women.

  • Provide training for circle keepers in the community

  • Accessible Self Defense Classes for girls and women

  • Community events

  • Stipends for interns

  • The creation of our Black and Brown, missing Femme Directory

  • Decrease crimes against Black and Brown, girls, and women in Philadelphia and its surrounding areas.
